Jazzpunk is a comedic adventure video game developed by Necrophone Games and published by Adult Swim Games. This game was released on February 7, 2014 for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux.

Plot[]

This game is centered around the journey of a secret agent named Polyblank in an alternate Cold War World in the late 1950s. He was sent to a secret agency that is housed in an abandoned subway station in the fictitious nation of Japanada (Canada + Japan), obviously based off Japan due to their frequent use of yen as their currency, by using a human-shaped suitcase. There he met with The Director, who gives him missions - such as to infiltrate and recover important data from the Soviet consulate, retrieve a very valuable artificial kidney from a cowboy, steal a briefcase full of valuable information from an enemy agent while disguised as a woman, and some rescue missions. The game's plot is sometimes thought to be about hallucinogenic drugs, as you require taking specifically engineered pills in order to do the missions and the game has lots of weird rules and limitations that could be written off as Polyblank simply being in a hallucinogenic state, but we await total confirmation that this theory is indeed correct.

Gameplay[]

Jazzpunk is a single-player, first-person adventure game, focusing on exploration and comedy, with some light puzzle-solving. Each mission has a main objective, but there are a huge number of secrets, side quests, interactive conversations, and mini games provided by the NPC's, that can be explored in this open-world-style game.

The controls of this game are simple, using the keyboard for basic movement, jumping, cycling through the player's inventory, and interacting with some objects, while the mouse is used to look around and, in turn, also can be used to interact with some objects.

While there aren't achievements in the game itself, there are 24 Steam Achievements that can be acquired by players who bought this game from the steam store.
